Cobetter sterile PES syringe filters are individually packed and made of both single-layer and double-layers of asymmetric polyethersulfone (PES) membrane. For double-layer syringe filters, the first layer is a prefilter with a larger pore size which makes the syringe filters with high throughput. This construction prevents the build-up of back pressure typically caused by the blocking of an unprotected membrane. The single-layer ones can achieve a high flow rate.

Available with pore size of 0.1μm, 0.22μm, 0.45μm, 0.8μm and 1.2μm. The low protein binding PES membrane suitable for filtration of aqueous and mild organic solutions.

The housing is made of premium polypropylene which has a wide chemical compatibility. The Over molded design ensures higher operating pressures. Luer lock inlet/outlet offers leak-tight syringe connection.

How to use a syringe filter?

Choose the right type of membrane material based on the properties of your sample. Be careful of the chemical compatibility to avoid extractables and leachables. Read this article about How to choose a syringe filter.

1. Load the sample into the syringe.

2. Attach the filter to the luer-lock of the syringe with a twisting motion. Make sure it is securely attached.

3. Filter the sample. Hold the syringe and filter vertically, and gently press the plunger to push the sample through the filter. Take care not to apply too much force or you may damage the filter.

4. Discard the used filter and repeat for the next sample.

How to use a syringe filter?

Q: What's the sterility method of the syringe filters? And how are they packed?

A: The PES syringe filters are sterilized by gamma irradiation. And they are individually blister packed.

Q: What's the advantage of sterile PES syringe filters?

A: PES syringe filters are with highest flow rate and low protein binding. The 0.2μm filters are ideal for sterilization of tissue culture media, protein solutions or aqueous solutions.

Q: Does the sterile syringe filter have a prefilter?

A: Yes, our sterile syringe filters are made of two-layer membranes. The upper layer with a larger pore size performed as a prefilter, such as 0.65μm prefilter plus 0.22μm for sterilization.
