Lifecask™ RT Single-Use Bioreactor Bags Now Officially Launched – Cobetter Expands Product Portfolio for Biological Upstream Process !

2026.08.26 231

As single-use technologies expand into large-scale biopharmaceutical manufacturing, manufacturers need more than performance alone. Supply reliability, scalability and cost efficiency are increasingly critical to maintaining operational continuity.

Cobetter introduces the Lifecask™ RT Single-Use Bioreactor Bag, developed to support biopharmaceutical manufacturers seeking greater flexibility and resilience in their single-use supply strategy.

Designed for demanding bioprocess applications and supported by rigorous testing and validation, Lifecask™ RT delivers a reliable solution for scalable single-use bioreactor operations.

Product Features

The Lifecask™ RT single-use bioreactor bags are now available in two turndown ratios – 2:1 and 5:1 – with working volumes ranging from 50 L to 2000 L, covering the full spectrum from R&D and pilot scale to commercial production. The bag body is designed based on geometric similarity principles, featuring an overhead mechanical agitation system, combined with a drilled-hole sparger (DHS) and sintered micro-sparge technology, effectively improving oxygen transfer efficiency and mixing uniformity. It is suitable for upstream cell culture processes in antibodies, vaccines, cell and gene therapy (CGT), and more.

Product Advantages

  • Performance Comparable to Industry-Leading Products

The RT bioreactor bag has undergone comprehensive performance validation, including measurements of mixing time, KLa, power number, and cell culture studies. Results demonstrate that the RT bag's performance is consistent with that of benchmarked equivalents from leading brands.

  • Cell Culture Safety

The RT bag body is manufactured from Cobetter's proprietary high-performance bioprocess films – Lifemeta™ KA film and Topene® RB film – produced using blown-film co-extrusion with water-cooling technology. These films feature an ultra-clean inner surface, excellent environmental stress crack resistance, tear resistance, flex durability, tensile strength, and chemical stability. Extractables and leachables (E&L) studies confirm that KA and RB films exhibit low extractable profiles.

  • Fully Localized Component Manufacturing

The inlet/outlet filters, tubing, bag connectors, and pressure sensors attached to the bag are all produced in-house by Cobetter. Additionally, Cobetter offers self-developed Lifemeta™ AC sterile connectors, further enhancing supply chain stability.

  • Bag Visibility

The bag features enhanced transparency, allowing operators to visually monitor the fluid condition during production at any time.

  • Flexible Customization Services

To accommodate different process requirements, the RT bag supports customization – such as modifying tubing configurations, adding single-use electrodes, or incorporating ATF ports.

Superior Product Performance

The Lifecask™ RT single-use bioreactor bags cover working volumes from 10 L to 2000 L. All bags are designed with a height-to-diameter ratio of 1.9:1, featuring top-entry angled mechanical agitation with a 45° blade angle to ensure consistent fluid dynamics across scales. Six sizes of drilled-hole spargers (DHS) and micro-sparges with 20–40 µm pore size guarantee scalable mass transfer performance. Comprehensive validation – including measurements of mixing time, KLa, and power number – provides reliable reference data for subsequent process scale-up/transfer.
