Plasma Separation Membrane

Plasma separation membrane is also called as blood cell separation membrane or plasma separation pad in membrane separation technology. Cobetter PSM series plasma separation membrane is a new type of plasma separation filter, which is specifically developed for POCT diagnostics. It can separate plasma from whole blood quickly without hemolysis and no pre-treatment required. The final reaction sample of POCT(point-of-care-testing) is mainly plasma. The traditional way to obtain plasma is centrifugation, but centrifugation requires a larger sample volume and longer centrifugation time. The emergence of membrane separation technology has effectively solved these problems. Membrane separation has the advantages of small sample volume requirements, short separation time, low possibility of hemolysis, and ease of use. At present, plasma separation membranes play an important role in POCT, providing a rapid solution for red blood cell removal in POCT diagnosis.

Description

Principle of Plasma Separation by PSM Series Membrane

Physical retention, highly asymmetric pore structure specifically designed for whole blood plasma separation. The large pores in the membrane physically trap blood cells in the whole blood, and plasma flows out from the small pores on the downstream side of the membrane, separating the plasma quickly without hemolysis.

Advantages of PSM Series Membrane

  • High efficiency. No need of centrifugation, and plasma can be separated quickly within 2 minutes, thus saving plasma collection time.
  • Low non-specific binding. No combination with key biomarkers, reducing the impact on diagnostics signal.
  • Low hemolysis. There is anti-hemolysis treatment on the membrane to reduce the possibility of whole blood hemolysis.
  • Plasma recovery volume≥10μL @40μL from whole blood.
  • Available in customized width for roll type and customized die-cutting shape.

  • Plasma separation for whole blood
  • Dry biochemical test strip
  • Immunochromatographic diagnostics
