Membrane adsorber is a product that combines membrane separation technology with chromatography technology. It uses membrane materials with specific pore sizes and surface properties to separate and purify different components in a mixture through mechanisms such as physical adsorption, ion exchange, and affinity. Membrane adsorber is widely used in biopharmaceuticals.
Cobetter Pultrix XQ membrane adsorber is a new type of anion exchange medium. Its principle is to modify high-density pure quaternary ammonium (Q) side chain binding groups in the cross-linked polymer coating to achieve the separation and purification of negatively charged components.
The interconnected pore structure (nominal pore size, 2 μm) and high ligand density in the Cobetter Pultrix XQ membrane provide a large contact area and high accessibility for effective binding of DNA or proteins, allowing larger biomolecules to pass through and achieving convective mass transfer on the channel surface, allowing target molecules to quickly bind to ligand sites. Compared with traditional column chromatography fillers, membrane adsorption media have higher process flow rates to shorten process time and higher dynamic binding capacity for biomacromolecules (such as plasmid DNA, enveloped viruses, etc.) to reduce process costs.
Features and Advantages
High Comprehensive Efficiency
Cobetter Pultrix XQ membrane has a large enough pore channel, showing high loading capacity and high flow rate at low pressure drop. The membrane adsorption medium is based on the principle of convective mass transfer, so that charged biomolecules can be bound once passing through the membrane, so that the chromatography process no longer depends on the length of retention time.
Fast
The recommended working flow rate of Cobetter Pultrix XQ membrane is 10MV/min within the pressure limit (the recommended flow rate of 2.5ml specification membrane is 25ml/min), and its production efficiency is 30 to 50 times faster than that of traditional filler chromatography. In addition, during the process development stage, it supports the use of Cobetter Pultrix XQ membrane 24-well plate with vacuum pump or centrifuge for high-throughput screening under small-scale test conditions, which helps efficient process development.Scalability and Flexibility
The full range of Cobetter Pultrix XQ membrane specifications can meet the various volume and performance needs of users in the biopharmaceutical field, including all stages from process development to large-scale production. Cobetter Pultrix XQ membrane can be used once or it can be cleaned and reused after validation.Good reproducibility
Cobetter manufactures the entire series of Pultrix XQ membranes in strict accordance with the IS0 9000:2015 standard, and the original membrane load is released within a narrow range to ensure that the client process is reproducible and has stable performance.Low cost
Compared to traditional chromatography columns that require effective column packing and cleaning protocols, Cobetter Pultrix XQ membranes offer high loading capacity, low operating costs (e.g., less buffer usage, less time investment, etc.), and low capital investment (e.g., no additional hardware investment, etc.).Easy to use
The Cobetter Pultrix XQ membrane is simple in form and easy to operate. Its filter form only requires a simple connection for use, so it can be disassembled and used immediately without the need for column installation. And there are no problems such as cleaning efficiency evaluation, cleaning validation and cross contamination.Applications
Compared with Cobetter Purcise Q, Pultrix XQ has high selectivity for target molecules in many binding and elution applications due to its specially optimized pure quaternary ammonium ligand. For example, in plasmid purification applications, Pultrix XQ can capture plasmids in E. coli lysate at a high load while ensuring good removal of impurities. During the capture process, Pultrix XQ can remove most impurities (HCR, HCD, HCP, endotoxin, etc.) including open-circular plasmids, achieving one-step purification of plasmids.
Cobetter Pultrix XQ membrane uses the market-proven hydrophilic PP membrane material, which has strong chemical compatibility and low non-specific adsorption.
