Vaccine Type

Virus-Based Vaccines
Virus-based vaccines include attenuated vaccines and inactivated vaccines. Attenuated virus-based vaccines are biologically active vaccines that reduce their virulence through multiple generations of reproduction, and their protective effects can last for several years. Inactivated virus-based vaccine refers to a non virulent vaccine that injects non replicating antigens of virus into the human body to elicit an immune response and produce antibodies, making it relatively safe.
Viral Vector Vaccines
Viral vector vaccines are a new type of vaccine. It involves loading nucleic acid fragments of the virus onto a safe viral vector (such as Adenovirus) and then injecting them into the human body. The human immune system recognizes the antigen and activates out immune response to obtain immunity.
mRNA Vaccines
COVID-19 brought unprecedented pressure to drug developers. mRNA vaccine adopts a non-viral delivery system, and can be manufactured in a cell-free system, offering rapid, economical and efficient production.
Recombinant Protein Vaccines
Recombinant protein vaccines, also called protein subunit vaccines, using purified recombinant viral protein fragments as antigens, transforming them into bacterial, yeast, mammalian or insect cells to stimulate the immune system and produce protective immunity. As the viral protein fragments are not able to cause infection, recombinant protein vaccines are considered to be safer and more stable than attenuated or inactivated vaccines.
